About

I grew up in Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire and now love living in Derbyshire.

I graduated with Distinction from the M.A. novel writing course at Manchester Metropolitan University. My latest novel is a Young Adult thriller called Hidden Toxins, published by Hawkwood Books. Diva Press published my adult novel, Treasure. My first YA novel, Anarchy was published by Onlywomen press. I was commissioned by Pavilion Press to write a book for health care and education professionals, called, Understanding Autism; Postcards from Aspie World, (written with Manchester and Salford Universities). The ‘Postcards from Aspie world’ card pack and booklet were both written with my daughter, who has autism. Mslexia magazine has published several pieces of my writing. My script, ’Around Again’ won a national scriptwriting competition and several of my short stories have appeared in anthologies. 

I am part of the LGBTQ+ community and include diverse, #own voices characters in all my work.

 

I have been a teacher and tutor for many years, teaching Theatre Studies and Creative Writing to sixth form students, undergraduate students and postgraduate students.

 

In my spare time, I really enjoy creating art, growing things, swimming, walking in the countryside (while trying to remember to breathe) and spending time with my family, my civil partner and our daughter.
